Privacy Notice

Your story belongs to you.

The Hawk Nest collects as little personal information as practical and keeps public help available without requiring an account.

Effective July 17, 2026

Public resources and emergency help

You do not need an account to use the resource directory, partner pages, immediate-help links, guest Digital Chips, wallet pass export, donation links, or contact information. The Hawk Nest does not use an account to record which help links, recovery resources, or crisis numbers you visit.

Digital Chips saved on your device

Guest profiles and chips are stored in your browser on your device. They can include a display name, fellowship, milestone date, biography, personal message, and photo. They remain on that device unless you deliberately download a backup, send a wallet pass request, or select a chip summary for My Nest cloud sync.

Optional My Nest accounts

Firebase provides passwordless sign-in and stores the verified email address used for your account. My Nest stores an account identifier, email address, privacy-notice version and acknowledgement time, plus only the chip summaries that you explicitly choose to sync.

When you request a sign-in link, this browser temporarily keeps the email address and privacy acknowledgement needed to finish sign-in. That temporary record expires after 30 minutes and is removed after a successful sign-in.

The initial sync excludes photos, biographies, fellowship, exact milestone dates, personal messages, profile links, and wallet IDs. Nothing already stored on your device is uploaded automatically.

Payments

Current donations are completed on Square's hosted checkout. The Hawk Nest does not receive or store full card numbers, CVV/security codes, bank credentials, or raw Square card-entry tokens. My Nest has account-payment infrastructure for Square customer and card references, but saved payment methods are not active until Square credentials, the Cloudflare database binding, and sandbox testing are complete. When enabled, My Nest stores only Square customer IDs, Square card IDs, card brand, last four digits, expiration details, cardholder name, consent version, and timestamps.

Wallet passes

Google Wallet and Apple Wallet passes are milestone passes, not payment cards. Creating one does not give The Hawk Nest access to Apple Pay or Google Pay card information. Only the chip details described beside the wallet buttons are sent to create the requested pass.

Service providers and security

The Hawk Nest uses Cloudflare for website delivery and wallet services, Firebase for optional authentication and private account records, and Square for payments. Access controls are designed so signed-in users can read and change only their own My Nest records.

  • Use the site and Digital Chips without creating an account.
  • Choose each local chip summary that you want to sync.
